Martin is a partner at CIL and focuses on client relationship management and business development across the US. He has over 23 years’ experience as a management consultant.
Prior to joining in 2007, he worked for Burlington Consultants and across sales, marketing and operations within the food industry.
Martin has an MBA from Cranfield and an MA in Classics from Oxford University. He also has a private pilot’s licence and has piloted single engine planes from the UK to South America and around Africa.
Sebastian is a partner at CIL and currently leads its built environment practice. He has over 20 years’ experience as a management consultant and was CIL’s managing partner until July 2019.
He works with a broad range of companies across the built environment sector, including products and merchants; design and technology; contractors and developers; and repair and maintenance. He also works with a wide range of private equity clients and debt providers.
Prior to joining CIL in 1999, Sebastian worked with PwC, before becoming a director at Door Panels Plc where he led a turnaround and helped grow sales in both the UK and Europe.
Sebastian is a chartered accountant and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts corporate finance faculty. He has a BA in Economics from Manchester University. Outside of work, Seb supports Firefly International.
Tabitha is a partner at CIL and leads its media practice, which covers consumer and business media, advertising and marketing, media technology and sport.
She is a specialist in media strategy and business development helping players across the value chain address the strategic and financial challenges of convergence. Her work covers strategic, financial, regulatory and operational issues with a focus on production, broadcasting, pay TV, digital media, changing consumer behaviour, advertising dynamics and PSB issues
Tabitha has a BA Hons in English from Oxford and an MBA from INSEAD. Outside of work, she is a trustee of Fine Cell Work and a patron of Ace Africa.
Tom is a partner at CIL and leads its technology practice. He has over 15 years’ experience as a management consultant.
Tom has led more than 200 engagements across a broad range of technology businesses. He holds a BSc in Economics and Politics from the University of Southampton.
Giles is CIL’s managing partner and leads its health, care and education practice. He has over 20 years’ experience as a management consultant.
He has significant experience working for acute hospitals, community health services, social and elderly care, children’s care and education, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, consumables and support services such as staffing, IT and informatics.
Giles has a BA in Politics from Bristol University and sits on the fundraising board of Missing People.
Alex is a partner at CIL and leads its financial and business services practices. He has over 20 years’ experience in consulting.
Alex has worked in numerous verticals within financial services, including lending, insurance, wealth management and payments. Within business services, Alex has covered professional services, human capital, BPO, property services, logistics and document management.
Before joining CIL, Alex was a consultant with specialist financial services strategy consultancy First Consulting, where he conducted strategy engagements in both the UK and Europe.
Alex has an MA in Languages from the University of Cambridge and is a keen musician.
Liam is a partner at CIL and leads its consumer practice.
He has substantial experience in the sector, with expertise in consumer products, food and beverage, leisure businesses and travel and tourism. Recent clients include businesses in beauty products, holiday parks, toy manufacturing, hair and beauty salons, sports nutrition and fitness training.
He has a first-class degree in Business Administration from Bath University.
Laura is a partner at CIL and leads its finance department.
Laura is responsible for CIL’s day-to-day bookkeeping and future planning as well as keeping on top of legislative change.
She is a qualified chartered accountant and holds a BSc in Accounting with Data Processing. Outside of CIL, she is the treasurer of her local Scout group.
Jon is a partner at CIL and leads its industrial products and services practice, as well as our US operations.
Jon’s work has been heavily international, providing support for US and European private equity firms as well as multinational corporations. Jon brings a wealth of operational experience from his time in industry. He started his career in the packaging industry with Fortune 500 company, Crown Holdings Inc. and also worked in sales and business insight with Diageo.
Jon has an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Manchester University (UMIST).
Leah is an associate director at CIL and focuses on its consumer practice.
She has worked on over 50 due diligence and strategy projects, her recent engagements include both buy side and sell side due diligence projects for beauty and colour cosmetics businesses, toys and gifts manufacturers, inland marinas and various ecommerce businesses. She also has strong experience in consumer healthcare and marketing services.
Leah holds an MA in Geography from the University of Cambridge.
Pedro is an associate director at CIL and leads its development in Iberia.
He has extensive experience in transport, health, care, business services and industrials. He has published reports on the status of the UK and European private equity industry and on buy and build opportunities for general partners across Europe.
He holds a BSc in Economics from NovaSBE and an MSc in Finance from CLSBE.
James is an associate director at CIL and focuses on its business and support services practice and leads our development in France.
Prior to joining CIL in 2017, James worked as a consultant at Credo, before spending two years on the executive team at Phoenix Equity Partners. These roles enabled James to develop extensive experience of due diligence engagements, in both an advisory and buy-side capacity.
James holds an MA in Languages from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford.
Anthony is an associate director at CIL and focuses on its technology practice.
He has been involved in over 100 due diligence and strategy projects.
Anthony holds an MA in Classics and Management studies from the University of Cambridge and is a Prince2 certified project manager.
He is currently a non-executive director of England Fencing and a consulting mentor for a social-impact charity in Africa.
James is a director at CIL and responsible for our built environment forecasting, overseeing all of our recent engagements in the sector.
His thoughts on the sector have been published in both major papers and trade press. He also has significant experience in business services, particularly legal services.
Previously, James worked in corporate communications for Google and Coca-Cola before joining strategic management at the Parabis Group and working sell-side throughout its 2012 buyout: the first private equity investment in a UK law firm. He holds a BA in English Literature from Durham University.
James enjoys team sports, distance running and continues to read broadly when time allows.
James is an associate director at CIL. He joined in 2013 and works primarily in our financial services practice, with particular experience across insurance, lending and wealth management. In addition, James has substantial experience in the leisure and technology sectors.
James holds an MEng in Automotive Engineering from Loughborough University. Outside of work, James is a fan of good food, live music and sport.
Laurence is an associate director at CIL, he supports its industrial products and services practice.
He has gained particular expertise in the testing, inspection and certification (TIC) sector and has led many of CIL’s recent engagements in this space. This has involved providing acquisition and growth strategy support to a diverse range of UK, European and US based businesses and private equity clients.
Prior to joining CIL in 2012, Laurence worked at SunChemical, a global producer of inks and pigments. He holds a first class MSci in Chemistry from the University of Bristol.
Tim is an associate director at CIL, where he supports its industrial products and services practice.
He has been involved in more than 50 due diligence and strategy projects and has particular experience across manufacturing, distribution, transport, energy, defence and government.
Prior to joining CIL in 2016, Tim worked in KPMG’s modelling practice and has spent some time in industry at Babcock International Group.
Tim holds a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
Scott is an associate director at CIL and supports its consumer practice.
Scott has broad consumer experience but has a focus on the FMCG and leisure sectors, as well as strong experience in the business services sector.
Scott holds a BSc in Business Management from the University of Manchester.
Rebecca is a principal at CIL and leads its Chicago office.
She has particular expertise in tech-enabled business services and life sciences. Rebecca most enjoys gaining insight into complex businesses and industries.
Prior to joining CIL in 2010, Rebecca worked for the European Commission. She was also a reporter for the EMAP publication, MEED Magazine, covering a range of topics including real estate, telecoms and middle eastern investment trends.
She has an MA in Modern and Medieval Languages from Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge.
Agnes is an associate director at CIL and focuses on its education and healthcare practice.
Her expertise lie in undertaking commercial due diligence, market studies and strategic reviews. She has significant experience of designing and conducting primary consumer research, across all key methodologies.
Prior to joining, she was an associate director at Pragma Consulting, where she helped run the strategy division. She has previously held roles in e-commerce and digital marketing at luxury retailer Louis Vuitton, and in transaction services at PwC.
Agnes holds an MSc in International Business from the University of Birmingham and a first-class BA in Politics. She is fluent in both German and French and takes an active role supporting charities and social enterprises.
Luke is an associate director at CIL and focuses on its media practice.
He has managed over 40 due diligence and strategy projects, with particular experience in marcomms, print and digital publishing, business media and data driven marketing solutions. He also has significant experience in business services and healthcare.
Prior to joining CIL in 2012, he worked in a number of SMEs covering the software and business services sectors. Luke has an MSc in Financial Economics from the University of Warwick.
James is a director of CIL and focuses on its healthcare practice.
James has worked in numerous verticals within healthcare, including acute services, medical products, supplies and distribution, dental, funerals and veterinary services. He has also worked on a range of projects for the business services sector.
Prior to joining CIL in 2012, James worked for Middle Eastern investors and was a corporate finance analyst at Houlihan Lokey. James holds an MA in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
Tom is an associate director at CIL and works with its business and support services practice.
He has worked in M&A for over 8 years, with exposure working from a commercial, financial and PE perspective.
Prior to joining CIL, Tom worked for PwC, where he focused on international M&A transactions within a range of industries. Tom also has two years of experience in industry, working as the corporate strategy & development manager at Burton’s Biscuits, backed by Teachers’ Private Capital. While at Burton’s, Tom was responsible for developing the company’s organic growth strategy and managing various M&A processes.
Tom holds a BA in History from the University of Sheffield and holds an ACA qualification.
